SO OTHERS MAY LIVE

Fun fact about Bob: While he was training to be a USCG Rescue Swimmer, he also learned to sew. It was part of his responsibility to repair parachutes, as well as other life saving equipment. Their motto was "So others may live," which Bob finds pretty fitting for our current times.

Now, he & Tess, still in quarantine in Zipolite, Mexico, are continuing their life-saving legacy and making masks. These are three layered masks with cotton shells and a flannel filter and handmade right there on the Oaxaca coast.

They bought all the materials and set up two sewing teams to make these masks and donated the first set to the people operating the checkpoints and roadblocks into and out of their area. Bob & Tess truly appreciate these great people who give themselves to not only oversee, but man these checkpoints in order to help keep the community safe.

Speaking of great people, Bob & Tess especially want to thank two important people that made this happen: Ama Adri and her amazing family and Alma Servin Olea and her friend Elvira. They are the ones that volunteered to learn how to make these masks and have continued the manufacturing process.

BOB'S ; TATTOO

Every 13 minutes, a person takes their own life here in America. Now that's a pandemic. Yet, we don't really talk about until it's too late. Unfortunately, losing someone to suicide is something Bob & Tess have experienced quite a bit—4 times to be exact. The friends they lost were normal, wonderful people, some have even helped with our events.

After the loss of several friends, one of the ways that Bob gave a voice to suicide awareness was getting his semicolon tattoo. In writing, the semicolon (;) separates two thoughts but indicates they share something in common. The semicolon tattoo meaning: It states that the optional semicolon continues a sentence rather than ending one like an abrupt period.
